Light Seeker’s Pet Night

Light Seeker’s Youth Club enjoyed taking part in a pets evening last Monday and were excited to be joined by special guest, Pat Kinch from Churnet Valley Veterinary Practice.

The group, who meet monthly in St. Andrew’s Church, Cheddleton, brought along their pets, or photographs of their pets. The visiting pets included a number of dogs, a 16 year old cat and a young guinea pig; who all behaved very well on the night!

Practicing Vet Pat Kinch shared a day in his life as a vet at Cheddleton’s Churnet Valley Veterinary Practice. Pat talked about giving essential but, more mundane treatments like, nail clipping and vaccinations.  He also shared some interesting stories about pets meeting lucky escapes, with a stone eating dog and an accident prone cat, who is using up his lives quickly!

Pat brought along veterinary equipment including an X-Ray machine, operating tools and other products.  All were interested to see the before and after X-Rays.

A frequent visitor to Churnet Valley vets with her various pets, Light Seekers leader Kath Parry Thomas spoke highly of Pat and the practice: “We thank God for our pets and for Pat for visiting us this evening.  He is a special blessing to us all because he looks after our pets so well.”

Everyone said how much they enjoyed the night and thanked Pat for his time and entertaining, informative talk.
